O.M.G. 2018 was one to remember! (Also, Happy Valentine’s Day!!!)

Like last year, I decided to celebrate the “most romantic day of the year” by celebrating the love, happiness and all in between that I was so blessed to capture last year.

Being a wedding photographer for me has allowed me to meet so many beautiful souls, get to see so many moments that will be forever favourites in someone’s life and I don’t take this for granted!

I’m so grateful that I get to call this a job, that I get to see human nature at its best where people share their love, tears and all that comes with it in the most honest way.

That’s the joy of weddings, it’s all about the people.

In a time where social media makes everything looks perfect and the same I get to see beauty in every shape and form and love being the common denominator to all that.

When I say to my couples: “it’s about about having fun and being in the moment”I really mean it and I think 2018 was the perfect example., just watch the video and you will understand why.

I hope you enjoy this images as much as I do.

To all my 2018 couples, I couldn’t have done without you! The way you allow me in and invited me to your day is what made last year unforgettable for me and for that I’m forever grateful.

To all future couples, I can’t wait to make 2019 even better ! Let’s have some fun!

D+M - Engagement Session - Phoenix Park - Farmleigh House

D&M_engagement_preview_8.jpg

As everyone knows I’m a big believer on engagement sessions and this one in Farmleigh House in the Phoenix Park is for sure one of my favourites!

If you are considering booking a wedding photographer for your wedding I highly recommend getting a trial like an engagement session first, I say to couples, “when you are buying your wedding cake you get to taste it first so why not with your wedding photos?”.

Wedding photos are the only thing (specially if you are not hiring a videographer) left from your wedding day and is so easy to get disappointed if you and the professional you chose are not the right fit!

Also, I’m pretty sure being in front of the camera is tough for anyone so why not try it out and see that at the end it can be fun?

This is what Mike and Daryll did, they took the time to meet me and we had such a fun day and on their wedding day they knew exactly what to do (wait until you see their full wedding, it was a dream!)

Hope you enjoy the photos x

Two day wedding at Dublin City Centre | Dublin Wedding Photographer, Ireland.

Geraldine&John_467.JPG

If you have been following me awhile you will know I'm a sucker for city weddings. Dublin City weddings are not easy but they are one of my favourite ones to shoot because the city is constantly changing ad there's so much to see and gladly Geraldine and John share my opinion and they wanted to showcase a few of the many beautiful corners of the city centre for their portraits.

They had their ceremony at the University Church (which looks stunning!)  for the first day of the wedding then had to the Westbury for their drinks reception and finished off at The Residence for an intimate meal with their guests, the next day they had to Clontarf Castle where they party with a bunch of their friends and celebrated their wedding all over again!

Here is some of the best images from the two days, hope you guys enjoy it I just had the best time shooting their wedding!

Best of 2017 - Ireland Documentary Wedding Photographer

PRESS PLAY!!!!

Happy Valentine's Day! What more perfect day to finally release my Best of 2017!

2017 was such a important year in my career and it was one of my most intense ones as well, I met incredible people with some fantastic stories and together we created some of my favourites images so far.

From outdoor ceremonies in the sun, confetti shots, two day bashes, Dublin City elopements, winter weddings full of style and everything in between, 2017 was the year where I was able to document couples that were several years together finally starting a new journey and it's just such a blessing, really.

Being a photographer is not an easy job, I tell you. There's a constant weight (metaphorically and literally speaking - those cameras weight a ton, lol) of being the person who will document forever a spitting stone in two peoples lives and doing it in a respectful, creative and truthful way is not something that comes easily but I wouldn't do it in any other way.

Can't wait to see what 2018 has reserved of all of us, but I have a hunch that is going to be even more amazing!

Hope you all enjoy the images xx

E+A | Lovely two day Dublin City Wedding | Medley Wedding Photographer

e&a_dublin_city_wedding_livia_figueiredo_525.JPG
Oh my god Livia these photos have us crying in the taxi from the airport to the hotel in Barcelona! Thank you so much we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day (and photographer!) Thanks so much for all your fantastic work over the 2 days! You really went above and beyond and we couldn’t have pictured it all going any better than it did.
— Emma + Arran

Emma and Aran's was a 2 day wedding something that it's becoming more popular and I have to say I totally get why! Their first day had their closed ones in a intimate ceremony where they exchange loving vows and walked around Dublin City with me to take some amazing portraits of the two and the second day was a bigger reception with all the friends at Medley a private cool venue in Dublin City Centre.

On the first day just at the beginning of the session at Merrion Square I asked the lovely ice cream man if we could invade his van for a few shots and I end up scoring some free ice cream for the couple (I should start advertising that too, I can see it now: "Cheeky photographer can get you some free food when possible"  my cheekiness didn't;t stop there and I managed to get these two inside the National Gallery of Ireland for their wedding portraits too!

Free ice creams were far from the only cool thing on this wedding. To start Emma had her wedding dress custom made by Synan O'Mahony and after a quite a few tries they came up to something classically beautiful! To say Emma knew exactly what she wanted is an understatement and even the shoes she designed herself!

Other things custom made was that Arran created an app for their own wedding! The app is for all the guests to share and view the images from the wedding and it was such a great idea!! On their second day at the reception at Medley they also have their custom logo put so saying that these two were big on making their day their own is saying the least!

I could stay days here saying how lovely and warm and kind they are and also their family and friends were and how honour I've been to document their day, hope you all enjoy the images <3

G+P | Don't let it rain on your parade! | Rathsallagh House | Wedding Photographer

p+g_rathsallagh_house_wedding_livia_figueiredo_451.jpg
LIVIA!!!!

You have killed me, these are so amazing. I absolutely love what you managed to capture. Thanks so much for sending this over - we’re delighted.
— Gemma+Phil

I often get asked "Livia, what happens if it rains on our wedding day?" rain is one of couple's biggest fear when it comes to wedding but what I say, as a wedding photographer that seen it all, is: you are the one that makes your day special, not the weather!

When it rains on a wedding I'm shooting my main job is to make it something to be incorporated (that doesn't mean running in the rain, although that would be fun too!) but to find light, beauty and special moments regardless of the weather and this wedding I'm showing today it's an example of that.

Gemma and Phil had planned their day up t the smallest details (Gemma was fantastic and there was a impressive spreadsheet involved when we met!) but one think you can't really predict is Irish weather, but they didn't let a little rain be an obstacle and as you can see in the images there was no short of happy faces all around!

One thing that they decided to do that it's having their first look and their couple's portraits before the ceremony, that I believe helped with the nerves and they were able to enjoy their reception with friends and family without rushing to have their photos!

If you are planning your wedding at Rathsallagh House there won't be any problem when it comes to lovely places for photos even with a little bit of rain!

Hope you enjoy the images xx

E+T | Intimate Cottage Ballilogue Wedding Photographer, Kilkenny - Ireland

e+t_ballilogue_kilkenny_wedding_photographer_liviafigueiredo_152.JPG
Oh Livia!!
So many tears and smiles from Melbourne ❤️ You are so talented!.. Which we knew already as that’s why we asked you to document our big day but couldn’t have imagined such a stunning collection of photographs. Every single one captures the essence of the day perfectly. We’re both so happy with them all, as are our family.
— Esther + Tomas

Esther and Tomas were the most easy going couple I ever met in a way you always dream your clients to be (well, if you are a wedding photographer). Their intimate wedding at Ballilogue (a fairly new venue for weddings that it's just the cutest!) was what I believe weddings are about: love, loved ones and lots and lots of joy!

On their wedding day there was rain (just a little - the sun came right back and gave us a beautiful golden hour towards the end of the day) but even if it had rained all day it wouldn't really made a difference because as you can see in the images there was not one person that wasn't beaming with happiness and I felt such an immense pleasure to be a part of such a lovely day.

What I say to you, if you recently got in engaged is this: planning a wedding and making all those decisions can be tough but do it light handed, take your time and make sure to enjoy the process because when you take the time to enjoy your day (one that you've been planning for so long and that goes so quickly) the memories you will have forever are priceless and I know that when they look at their images they can re live all the happiness of that day once more!

Elope to Ireland | Dublin City | Woolen Mills | J+G Preview Wedding Photography Dublin

Livia, Omg! I shouted with joy when I saw these.
You truly have no idea how amazing a gift this is to us that you captured these images. We’ll never be able to thank you enough. I’m so glad that we had the privilege of working with you. It truly made our day that much more memorable and amazing. I know for sure that Gio and I will always cherish our day venturing through the streets of Dublin with you”
dublinweddingphotographer_liviafigueiredo.jpg

They came all the way from California to Elope in Ireland , they wanted to capture the city in all its colours and shapes and all they said to me was: "We want to have fun, do whatever you think will look good!" Are this clients even real?

More and more I've been encountering couples that embrace their own style and not necessary do whatever is traditional if doesn't resonate with them and I just find that fab! Nothing wrong with traditional specially if that what you envisioned for your wedding but nothing better for you and your partner than doing what feels right and what represents you.

Here's a sneak peek from their elopement and I will be sharing more soon, hope you like it!
